Tried it Tuesday-Linky Party

It is Tuesday, and I am excited to link up with Holly at Fourth Grade Flipper for Tried it Tuesday!

On Thursday last week, I celebrated Talk Like a Pirate Day with my class. I've done it for quite a few years, but this was my first year celebrating it as a blogger. I decided to host a linky party for those that might want to celebrate it with their kids as well.

I had never created a linky before. I used InLinkz (which is what I think most people use.) I followed this video and it was a piece of cake.

I was so nervous that no one would link up...but four of my lovely blogging buddies celebrated Pirate Day and linked up.

If you've ever wanted to have a linky party, go for it. It was much easier to set up than I thought it would be.

I also wanted to let you know that I recently changed my freebie on my Facebook page. It's one of my students favorite activities, so I hope you swing by and grab it soon!

What have you tried recently?

  1. I was also surprised how easy InLinkz was to use. I was afraid of it when I first thought about starting my linky party, but I am a master now! :)

  2. When I held my first linky party this summer I was also surprised at how easy InLinkz was to use. I love all the collaboration that goes on with a linky party!

  3. I agree- it's scary hosting your first linky, but I'm so glad I did it. I was too overwhelmed to join in the pirate fun this year, but hopefully next year!:)

  6. So sad that we did not do too much for Pirate Day because of our field trip : (
I agree that starting up a linky is scary - that is why I am still to scared to try!

  7. I was a little irritated with myself because I realized what day it was that morning.

Congrats on the linky-party (I still feel like I sound funny using the term linky). It's not nearly as overwhelming as it sounds, which is nice.

  8. Yay! Bethany! I wish I would've done something on pirate day so I could've linked up with you! I enjoyed reading about your fun day! I definitely have to remember these activities for next year! I think all the linky parties, blog hops, FB freebies, etc. is stressful! Every time I participate in one I get so nervous my post won't work and mess everyone else up.

  9. Wahoo!! You're awesome, Bethany! I have never celebrated Pirate Day but this is something that I have to try next year for sure (even if it is only like the 10th day of school!). I love your Pirate Day pictures. So fun! I also downloaded your Monster fb freebie. That looks amazing too! Thank you so much, friend. :)
