May Goals Linky and Giveaway

I can't believe it is only Monday...I think I am still tired from my camping trip last week.
I'm linking up with I {heart} Recess for her monthly goals linky party. I always ask my students to make goals, but sometimes I forget to make my own!

Personal-My husband is finishing up his bachelors degree, and I am in the "crazy" time of year at school. Sometimes we both get so busy we don't have a chance to really spend time together. He is my best friend and it makes me sad when we don't have time for each other!

Health-I have been doing Weight Watchers for over a year and am down 50 lbs. I've hit a plateau and really need to consistently exercise a few times each week to get over the "hump."

Blogging-I am so pleased with how far this blog has come in the last two months. I look forward to continuing to post at least 5 times each week.

School-My students and I are about ready to start out nonfiction writing unit. I want to polish it up and post it onto TPT after we have worked through it at school.

Fun-My "to-read" pile is getting dangerously high. I want to read at least three of the books in that pile!

Don't forget to enter my 100 follower giveaway. It ends on Friday!

  1. Thanks for linking up! WoW 50lbs, that's awesome! Exercising is the only way I drop weight and I have a love hate relationship with the gym. (hate going, love the results)

    1. Thanks Jess. I have the same love/hate relationship with the gym. I got out of the habit of going, once I get back in the habit I'll be fine.

  2. Your goals for the week look exactly like mine! I just found this app... gympact on my phone that I am attempting. Have you heard of it? You make a pact to work out 3-5 times a week. This week I chose 3 and I put $5 on the line. For each workout I do, I get paid (not much, but something)... the kicker is if I don't work out 3 times, they charge me $5 for each missed workout - talk about motivation!

I hope you reach your weekly goals!

  3. Congrats on the 50 lbs. girl!!! That's great! I would also love to spend more time with the hubs, that's what I love about summer so much :o) I don't have any "homework" after work (or work for that matter, lol) so I can hang out with him more. What's on your "to read" list for May? I LOVE reading and am always looking for good recommendations.

    1. I love summer for that reason too. It is so nice to have a little extra time at night. Book wise I just started Poetry Mentor Texts by Dorfman and Capelli-I heard them speak on Saturday when I was at a workshop and it was fantastic.

  6. Hey lady! :)

Seriously.. congratulations on the weight loss. Being dedicated with workouts is so hard as a teacher, because we have so many other things to do! I definitely understand missing out on hubby time! Mine is in the Army and goes away quite often. He's been gone for the last 3 weeks and we've had no communication! Makes my slightly crazy! :)

  8. Wow! Congratulations on that weight loss! That's incredible!
Wouldn't it be brilliant if there was an extra hour each day just for reading?! I would LOVE that- there are so many amazing books to read- it's just making the time that's difficult! I've just become your latest follower :)
