Favorite Pins

Another week of summer has passed! It is flying by way too quickly. Next week starts the "end" of summer for me. I'll be subbing at a writing camp, working at VBS at night at my church, tutoring a very gifted student in writing, and working on curriculum whenever I can get a chance. Before all the craziness begins I want to link up with The First Grade Parade for Favorite Pins Friday.

I have spent the summer looking through some of my pins for this I want to incorporate this coming school year.


I love the idea of a graffiti wall for book quotes. I don't have a lot of bulletin board space, so I may use the back of a door for a mini-graffiti wall. Have any of you ever used this before? I'd be interested in hearing how it worked out.


I use a lot of post-it notes during Reading Workshop. My students stick them in their Reading Notebook, and use them as a reference to write their Friday reading response letters to me. I like the idea of having them write long on a post it during the week. I think it will help me see more of their thinking on a day to day basis.

Workshop Wednesday-Pinterest Style

Happy Wednesday! I'm finally linking up with Ideas By Jivey for her summer Pinterest Workshop Wednesdays.

I must admit, I spent a lot more time on Pinterest before I started my own blog. Now I am finding that instead of searching Pinterest for ideas all the time I am pinning ideas that I find from many of you-my fellow bloggers.
One thing on my Pinterest board is this:

I love that this gives kids a chance to change their thinking as they learn. I also love the misconceptions section. I plan to work on making these over the summer so I am ready to use them in the fall.
I am planning on running a Math Workshop next year. I found this pin that had a really cute and easy rotation board as well as quite a few anchor charts.
